Concordia Public School, a pioneer in holistic education, has taken another significant step towards promoting environmental awareness and sustainability with the inauguration of its Eco Garden, aptly named “HERBANICA” which means ‘Spectrum of Green’. The grand opening ceremony was held on 27th December 2023, graced by the presence of Mr. Poomalai and his family from Japan.
Mrs. Hashimoto Poomalai, with her gentle hands, symbolically opened the doors of HERBANICA, ushering in a new era of green consciousness within the school premises. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including Correspondent, Chairman Principal, Vice-Principal, a team of enthusiastic Co-ordinators, teachers, Administrators and Building Engineers.
HERBANICA is not just a garden; it’s a living laboratory where students will learn about the wonders of nature and the importance of preserving our planet. The garden is meticulously designed to showcase a diverse range of herbs and shrubs, each carefully selected for its ecological significance and potential benefits.
During the opening ceremony, each attendee had the privilege of planting a sapling, symbolizing their commitment to nurturing the garden and contributing to a greener future. The event was a celebration of environmental stewardship, fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to nature among the school community.
HERBANICA is envisioned as a space for students to engage in hands-on learning experiences, conduct experiments, and explore the fascinating world of plants. It will serve as a hub for environmental education programs, inspiring young minds to become environmentally conscious citizens and future stewards of our planet.
Concordia Public School is proud to have taken this initiative towards creating a sustainable campus and promoting environmental awareness. HERBANICA is a testament to the school’s dedication to providing a holistic education that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit. As the garden flourishes, it will undoubtedly become a source of pride and inspiration for generations to come.
