Concordia Public School Staff Embarks on an Unforgettable Munnar Adventure

On December 25, 2024, the enthusiastic team of 21 staff members from Concordia Public School set off on a much-awaited journey to the picturesque hill station of Munnar. The journey commenced with a celebratory dinner in Thanjavur, marking the birthday of the esteemed correspondent, and proceeded with an overnight journey filled with anticipation.

December 26, 2024: The group arrived in Munnar early in the morning and checked into the cozy “Sholai Homes” for a delightful breakfast. Their exploration began with a visit to the famous tea plantations, where they learned about the intricate tea production process while taking in the breathtaking views of the lush, misty hills. The group also made a stop at the Mettupatti Dam, soaking in the serene atmosphere and scenic views of the surrounding landscape. The rest of the day was spent admiring the area’s natural wonders, including beautiful waterfalls and mist-covered peaks. In the evening, the group visited the Hydel Water Park, strolling through scenic paths and sharing lively conversations. The day ended with a delicious dinner, filled with laughter and camaraderie, as they eagerly anticipated the adventures ahead.

December 27, 2024: The day began with a scrumptious homemade breakfast of Aappam and kadala curry, prepared by the talented staff members. Energized for the day, the group embarked on an exhilarating jeep safari through Munnar’s rugged terrain, enjoying stunning views of the region’s agricultural landscapes, including bay leaf, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom, cocoa, and coffee plantations. They also visited the Hydro Electric Power Station where they got an interesting glimpse into the region’s energy production. The adventure continued with visits to the Pannaiyar Waterfalls, Ponmudi Dam, and Echo Point, where they took in the refreshing sights and sounds of nature. The group also crossed a scenic hanging bridge and enjoyed panoramic vistas from a hilltop viewpoint.

In the afternoon, the staff took a leisurely trip to a secluded private waterfall near 20 Acre, where they reveled in the cool waters, offering a refreshing break from the day’s adventures. Later, the staff explored Munnar’s lively markets, picking up unique souvenirs and local specialties. The day concluded with a hearty dinner, full of shared stories and excitement for the final leg of their trip.

December 28, 2024: The return journey proved just as enchanting as the trip itself. The group made a stop at Maraiyoor for shopping, followed by scenic views of Eravikulam National Park and Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. The journey also took them through fields of drumstick trees and corn, providing a glimpse into the region’s agricultural charm. Along the way, they were awed by majestic windmills that dotted the landscape, framed by stunning mountain views.

A relaxing lunch in Udumalaipettai recharged the group before the final stretch of their journey. They returned to Mannargudi that evening, bringing with them unforgettable memories of the trip.

This remarkable excursion was a blend of natural beauty, thrilling adventures, and heartfelt camaraderie, leaving the staff with cherished memories to treasure for years to come.
