Pongal Celebrations 2025!

The traditional and festive Pongal celebration at Concordia Public School on January 15, 2025, was a magnificent event that radiated the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu. The beautifully adorned venue and thoughtfully planned activities created a vibrant atmosphere, blending age-old traditions with enthusiastic student participation.

The celebration began with the rendition of “Tamizh Thai Vaazhthu” by our school choir an ode to the Tamil mother tongue. This soulful start set a reverent and celebratory tone for the event.

Thanyasri R S from Grade V extended a heartfelt welcome to dignitaries, students, and staff, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural traditions and fostering unity within the school community.

Our distinguished Vice Principal inspired the audience with an engaging address on the significance of Pongal, encouraging students to honour their cultural roots while embracing modern aspirations.

A series of traditional competitions showcased the creativity and talent of students across different grades:

  • Flower Arrangement: Kindergarten students exhibited their artistic flair through vibrant floral designs.
  • Fruit Carving Competition: Grade I students impressed with intricate and creative fruit carvings.
  • Pot Painting Competition: Grade II students demonstrated artistic skill by adorning clay pots with traditional motifs.
  • Canvas Painting Competition: Grade III students displayed their expressive and colourful artwork on canvas.
  • No-oil No-boil Recipe Competition: Grade IV students showcased their culinary creativity with healthy, innovative recipes.
  • Rangoli Competitions: Students from Grades V, VI, and VII created stunning Rangoli patterns using coloured salt, colour powders and flowers adding colour and festive spirit to the event.

Students from various grades delighted the audience with vibrant and energetic dance performances, embodying the joyful spirit of Pongal.

Kindergarten students sung a cheerful Pongal-themed rhyme, spreading festive joy and excitement.

The traditional Kummi dance was performed by both Kindergarten students and grade students, captivating the audience with its rhythm and vibrant movements.

Ajay Balan V K, a talented student from Grade VI, demonstrated Silambam, showcasing exceptional mastery and dedication to this traditional martial art.

Kindergarten students participated in the lively and entertaining pot-breaking game, bringing fun and laughter to the celebration.

Priyanth T from Grade IV delivered a warm vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.

The celebration concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, by our school choir instilling a sense of pride and unity among all attendees.

The Pongal celebration at Concordia Public School was a resounding success, bringing together the school community to honour cherished traditions while encouraging creativity and enthusiasm among students.
